This special Apple device made everyone say goodbye to their CD players in 2017. We’re talking about Apple’s elegant iPod, which people were once obsessed with. Both the Nano and the Shuffle came out in 2005—only two years before the iPhone was released. They were known as the cheaper versions of the standard iPod. Is it the most missed iconic piece of tech from the 2000s? According to fans, yes. Let’s find out more.
Apple’s Most Missed Device
The Nano iPod is the one Apple device people miss the most. We were reminded of it thanks to a recent video YouTuber Zachary Staines uploaded. It was titled “Forgotten iPod,” and made people realize how much they miss it. Staines actually said he didn’t remember the iPod at all. In the video, he told the story of the Nano and its functions: “This thing is like a mini iPhone, except, of course, it doesn’t support calls.”
In his opinion, the success of the iPhone kind of overshadowed the iPod. He also commented that since the iPhone was an all-in-one device, people would no longer need an iPad.
People’s Reactions
Judging by the comments on Zachary’s video, this was a lot of people’s first iPod. Others said they have used it for years, and it still works fine today! For other Apple lovers, this was the first ever device from the brand. Another user was actually devastated after losing it during a summer vacation.
The iPod Nano was at its peak for 11 years and was a favorite of seven generations from 2005 to 2017. The 7th generation iteration had a 2.5-inch, touch-sensitive display and was officially the final iPod. What about you? Were you one of the happy owners of Nano iPod? Or maybe you prefer Apple’s newer inventions. For us, the Nano will always be iconic, and generations will remember it for years to come. Miss you, buddy.
